In this beginner friendly workshop you’ll learn the basics of linocut printmaking on fabric. Sign up to create and take home your very own stamp and customize any clothing/textile goods you bring in with you!
- printing making materials provided - 6x4 inch linoleum block, tools, ink (black & white), one square piece of fabric
- You are encouraged to bring in your own textiles to print - t-shirts, sweaters, jean jackets, totes bags, etc *
- a limited amount of totes as well as thrifted shirts will also be available for purchase at the workshop for you to print on
- an assortment of my (Abbey’s) stamps will also be available if you’d like to use them
* Some fabrics print better than others. Fabrics that do not possess a large amount of stretch are best. Cotton, linen, broadcloth denim, and canvas are ideal. Normal t-shirts, sweatshirts, and jeans all work great :) Nylon is NOT recommended.
It’s best to come prepared with some ideas for what you’d like to make as workshop time can sometimes feel like it’s going by fast. If you’re not sure where to start, I recommend searching on Pinterest for inspiration. I will also have a couple of designs ready to go at the workshop so if the decision process stresses you out you can get right to carving :)
Sliding Scale Pricing: In my best effort to keep this workshop as accessible as possible there are two other ticket prices available for this event: $30 and $35. These prices are meant to keep the arts accessible to those without the financial means to pay full price.
To access those prices simply input either of the following codes at checkout and it will make all tickets in your basket the respective price :)
$30SLIDINGSCALE
$35SLIDINGSCALE
There’s also an option to help fund someone else’s ticket if you’re financially able. If you’re interested in contributing, you can find it in the same section as the workshops on my website. Contributions start at $5, add 8 to your basket and you’ve sponsored an entire ticket! All contributions go directly to keeping workshops as affordable as possible.
REFUNDS: Full refund up to 14 days before the event. After that, no refunds. As a small business who buys all supplies herself I unfortunately can’t sustainably offer refunds that close to the date.
If you can’t make it you’re welcome to give your tickets to a friend who can :) no need to officially transfer them, just tell them to give the name of the person who originally bought the tickets when they arrive!
