The Story of Mr. Ballooney Head:

Mr. Ballooney Head is a character I came up with before I knew the words for disassociation. There was a poetry assignment, way back in Grade 8, where I wrote about feeling like I was always floating above everything. I drew this little doodled guy to go with it. I was really proud of the poem; I’d never talked to anyone about my floaty feelings. I just assumed everyone felt floaty sometimes and maybe I was just bad at dealing with it? 

It wasn’t until years later that I’d see the definitions for the words disassociation, depersonalization, and derealization. That was a big “OHHHH” moment for me. 

I failed that poetry assignment. 

And yet, Mr. Ballooney Head lives on. Now in multiple designs, in multiple scenarios, and in multiple cute stickers for you to enjoy.
